What is EUR.1?
EUR.1 (Movement Certificate) is an official customs form that certifies the preferential origin of a consignment of goods. Having the certificate allows the importer to apply a zero or reduced rate of import duty under a free trade agreement with the EU. It is issued by the customs authority of the exporting country on the basis of an application and proof of origin.
It is valid for 4 months and is submitted to the customs authorities of the importing country. It may be replaced by an invoice declaration of origin if the value of the goods does not exceed EUR 6,000 or if the exporter has Approved Exporter / REX status.
